Vent Covers
There are two vents and an air return in the theater. To reduce noise from the furnace and keep air from blowing directly on people I constructed covers for them. |

Vent Covers
The covers are made of black foam core and held together with hot glue. This shows a close up of the construction. |

They are lined with textured foam to reduce noise. |

Vent Covers
Here is one in place. It directs the air down. The camera flash also makes it clear that the walls are drak grey not actually black. In the light of the theater they are barely noticeable. |

Star Field
The tray ceiling in the back of the theater will eventually be the home of a fiber optic star field. It is being built as four panels made from foam core. |

Star Field
These are 2 x 1/4" pine strips that will be used as the sides of the panels. |

Star Field
Black construction paper pasted to both sides of a seam allow joining two sheets of foam core to get the needed length. This is surprisingly strong. |

A panel with the sides glued on and center supports for rigdity. You are looking at the top side that will be next to the ceiling. You can also see the marks for the star pattern. |

Braces glued in for even more support. |

Fiber optics being installed in a panel. I am using three sizes of fiber. |

Star Field
Another view. Unfortunately the star field is on hold because I am on a major project at work. To date, it is not complete. |
