New Projector
This is the new Panasonic PT-AE1000U projector. It is 1080p. That monstrosity on the front is the Prismasonic anamorphic lens. Together they are awesome!
Projector mount is also no longer home made. |

Cinemascope Screen
This is the new Cinemascope (2.35x1) screen. It is moderate gain (1.3) and has a nice velvet frame. What Da-Lite calls "Pro-Trim". |

New Mask
The newest mask system is DIY and rolls up like a motorized screen. This is a bracket that PVC pipe rests in. |

|
|
New Mask
The brackets are made of a corner bracket, a piece of L-shaped aluminum, and two rollers. The rollers are actually double-hung window pullys. |

These are the ends of the mask roller. They are made of PVC plugs, a screwdriver bit, and a sliding door pivot glued into the plugs. |

The drive end. Yes that is a cordless screwdriver. The swtich has been removed and replaced by two relays controlled by our home automation system. |

One side of the mask with fabric now in place. This is theater fabric. |

New Mask
Close up of the fabric on the roller. The fabric had a strip of heavy plastic sown to the top. The plastic was then taped to the roller with foil tape then rolled up. It never unrolls far enough to expose the plastic or tape. |

New Mask
The mask system uses an alarm switch (like used on windows and doors) to detect when the mask reaches the top and bottom. This is the magnet part attached to the mask. It's painted black now. |

New Mask
The bottom switch. This is connected to an input on the home automation controller. The magnet on the mask passes by the switch as it comes down. There is a switch at the top also. |
